Safeguarding
Distinction Tuition is run by Amery Rodrigues, who holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, available to view on request. The safety and wellbeing of every student comes first.
How lessons are run
In-person lessons for students under 18 take place at the family home with a parent or carer present in the house, or at an agreed public place such as a library.
Online lessons use Zoom with a link shared with the parent. Parents are welcome to sit in at any time. Lessons are not recorded without written consent from a parent.
I keep professional boundaries at all times and never arrange meetings with students outside agreed lessons.
If I am worried about a child
I follow Oxfordshire's local safeguarding procedures. If I have a concern about a child's safety, I will share it with the appropriate authorities, and with parents where that is safe and appropriate.
